1How do I book a charter?
Each captain has a calendar in his/her listing, simply click on the date you'd like to book. Then choose the type of trip you'd like from the drop down menu under "Extras". You will be required to leave a 10% deposit in order to reserve your charter (you will pay the remaining balance directly to the captain). We will then confirm your charter and forward your contact information to your captain.
2What do I need to bring with me?
Your captain will typically provide bait, tackle, rods, reels, ice, fishing license, and fuel, however, this varies from captain to captain and state to state. Please review your captain's listing for what is provided. Your deckhand will be happy to clean your catch for you and it is customary to tip 20% so you should bring cash. You should also bring sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses (preferably polarized). You may want to bring a long sleeve shirt or jacket as it tends to get chilly in the morning and evening. You should also bring plenty of drinks and any snacks you may want, but no glass bottles and no bananas (bad luck!). We are currently working with several restaurants to provide you with box lunches and drinks for your trip, so check back with us before your charter if you'd like a cooler stocked and waiting for you on the boat! Your captain will contact you directly prior to your charter to answer any questions you may have.
3What is your cancellation policy?
Should you have to cancel, please do so at least 7 days prior to your trip. Failure to cancel 7 days prior will result in forfeiture of your 10% deposit.
*Captains may have additional deposit requirements and cancellation policies specific to their charters. Please review these with your captain upon booking. Hook It Charter Bookers cancellation policy refers only to the 10% deposit collected at the time of booking.
4What if we have bad weather?
Cancellations due to weather will be at your captain's discretion.
5What if I have questions that aren't on this list?
Our Hook It staff is available 24/7 by phone or email to answer any questions you may have. We want you to have an amazing time on your charter and we're here to assist you in any way we can.
